Comida Japonesa Hipster

El Lugar: MOG

La Experiencia: MOG tiene un enfoque moderno y casual para una gran variedad de comida japonesa y asiática. El lugar es distintivamente hipster, tanto en su apariencia como por el personal, pero no dejes que este ambiente de sombrero y lentes de pasta gruesos te ahuyente si eso no te gusta, porque la comida es increíble.

La idea de MOG es sencilla: transformar una gran variedad de ingredientes frescos de alta calidad en una cantidad sorprendentemente grande de platillos como sopas (Pho vietnamito, Udon japonés, y muchas más) pasando por arroces de diferentes tipos y sashimi de alto nivel, además el personal hipsteril es bastante profesional y eficiente.

MOG es uno de los pocos lugares en la Ciudad de México donde puedes comprar comida vietnamita, tailandesa, china o japonesa muy, muy, muy fresca (casi al grado de ser slow food), en uno solo lugar y con una elaboración artesanal.

Si te mueres de ganas de probar comida asiática y estás cerca de la Roma Norte ¡debes probarlo!

Las Especialidades: Es muy difícil escoger una especialidad por la gran variedad de su oferta… a Gringo G le gustan mucha las sopas, los platillos de arroz con sashimi y casi todos los rollos.

Tips: Sé paciente y espera a que te asignen una mesa, MOG no acepta reservaciones y es muy popular (o ve horarios no estelares). Tampoco te olvides de pedir el menú de temporada cuando pidas algo pues esos platillos son muy buenos.

(MOG tiene un menú de lunch en horario de comida de lunes a viernes con un precio bastante accesible)

Japanese Hipster Cuisine

The Place: MOG

The Experience: MOG offers a modern no frills approach to a wide-variety of Japanese and Asian cuisine. The setting is distinctly hipster as is the appearance of much of the wait-staff. Don’t let this hipster ambiance turn you off if it is not your thing; because the food is exceptional.

MOG’s concept is simple… transform a wide variety of fresh, high quality ingredients into an amazingly high variety of dishes from soups (Vietnamese Pho, Japanese Udon and more) to rice dishes to high grade sashimi … plus the hipsterish wait-staff is really quite professional and efficient.

MOG is about the only place in Mexico where you can get very, very fresh (almost slow food) Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Thai and other regional Asian cuisines in one place … all executed at a high level.

If you are digging Asian food and you are around the Roma Norte give this a try!

The Specials: Too hard to specify one in particular taking into account the wide variety on offer … Gringo G really likes the soups, the rice dish creations with sashimi as well as most of the rolls.

Tips: Please be ready for a long wait as MOG does not accept reservations and is very popular (or you can try and get there during non-peak hours). 

Also make sure to check out the seasonal menu on the first page of the MOG menu … these dishes are generally fantastic!
