The Place: Pan
Comido: The New Kid on the Block!
The Experience: Pan Comido is one of the fresher, newer and well executed veggie/organic/local grown restaurants in the city and has taken the health food scene by storm. The little restaurant in the heart of the Roma Norte is always packed and if you go on the weekend expect a long wait to get a table (no reservations).
The place is about as hipster as you can get serving the drinks
in old re-used jelly jars and other assorted glass receptacles on wooden tables
with little flower arrangements at the center of every table. The food,
however, is excellent with nice veggie burgers piquing the Gringo’s palate
every time he goes.
Highly recommended if you wanted a hipper, higher end version
than the more old school veggie spots in Mexico City without pretension and
high prices you can find at some of the newer competitors in the veggie market.
The Location: Calle
Tonalá 99, between Álvaro Obregón and Chihuahua, Colonia Roma Norte, DF (for
other locations search Restaurante Pan Comido in Google).
Even the Restrooms are Vegetarian at Pan Comido
The Specials: The veggie burgers, the cookies are
magnificent and to die for … the falafel is also killer.
Fresh Waters and Juices Made Daily
Fake Meat Burger with Incredible House Chips
Soup Du Jour
Massive Cookie Plate
The Last Piece of Red Velvet Cookie
Double Chocolate Galore
Tips: If you want an option
that is vegetarian but close to non-veggie food you can try the veggie
hamburgers which are all solid plus the house potato chips that are on the side
are crackin’! Also you can get these as a combo with an "agua del día" and a soup included.
